affirmations for a sick pity-party-thrower

 via

I need this banner to remind myself that despite my present state, life is pretty great, you know? That said, I'm going to spend the next few hundred words complaining, so brace yourself...

There is a piece of croissant on my computer screen - I just wiped it off, but the fact that I just did around 30 minutes or so of work with it smack dab in the center of my computer screen should be a good indication of how things are going for me at this present moment.

I am sick. And it's the kind of sick that wipes you out, refuses to let you swallow without feeling like you have suddenly become one of those professional knife swallowers in the circus, and just wipes you out so are absolutely no fun to be around in any capacity. Oh, and it's laundry day, so I'll spare you the details of how unsightly my outfit is right now - I literally apologized to the first person I saw at work for my general appearance. I'm a real joy to be around right now, let me tell you.

That said, I am looking forward to this weekend to relax, eat Chinese food, watch Meryl Streep movies and hopefully get the chance to finally meet my best friend's new and completely adorable baby, that is, assuming I start to feel a little better

I hope you all have a great weekend! I hope to be back to normal next week. But for now, I'm just going to throw myself a little pity party complete with cough drops and lots of Vitamin C.

  4. Aw, I hope you feel better Emily! Being sick is the worst, but look at it as a chance to re-charge (and catch up on some TV!).
