I still remember the moment when I first heard what happened. I was in my 9th grade Spanish class, and a classmate had told us of the news rather abruptly in the middle of conjugating verbs. I remember my classmates and I thinking how bizarre it was that he would make something like that up - no one believed him. I think everyone can remember where they were when they heard the news that day. It felt surreal. It still does today.

Today is about remembering. Remembering those who lost their lives. Remembering the courageous service people who risked their lives saving others. Remembering the crew responsible for cleaning up the remains of the towers. And it's about celebrating the construction of a new One World Trade Center.

I pray for all of those who lost their lives that day and for their families and friends. We'll never forget you.
