If we had a coffee date, I'd tell you that there has been a lot on my mind lately. Which I think is a big reason why I haven't written a blog post in a week. Ever feel sometimes like you have too much to say? That's where I've been. All the thoughts jumbled in my head with no obvious pattern. So this blog post isn't really like others I've written. A lot of honesty here.
I'm sitting at the coffee shop as I write this, and the girl next to me is writing a blog post as well...I wonder what her blog is about? It's important to point out that she is simultaneously on Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter so she's my kind of girl. If you saw my desktop right now, you'd see that I have about five million windows open. So I totally get it.
One of my best friends had her first baby this past week. She's the first of any of my friends to have a baby, and since her birth, I feel different. But in a good way. And I'll be going to Chicago this weekend to meet her for the first time, and I've been so surprised by the amount of love I feel for this child I have yet to meet. I'd imagine it's similar to what having a niece or nephew feels like. I'm still waiting for one of those from my sister. My sister seems to think that since my parents want a grandchild so badly, I should just get pregnant and be the first to give them that gift. Not so much, sorry girlfriend.
I'm exploring my faith a little more. I've always been faith-full, just not sure where I fit in. I'm taking steps as we speak to explore different faiths, and while it's kind of a daunting task, it's also incredibly exciting. The process of exploring it all is good soul food, ya know? Will keep you posted on progress.
I bought four bottles of soap today. And I don't even need soap, I just liked the bottles so much that I had to buy them. Now that I've created a stockpile, I suppose I won't be needing soap for at least a year. Anyone else seen these? Are they not just the coolest?!
I'd then ask how you are doing, how your coffee is and what the fall holds for you. Do you miss the back-to-school traditions as much as I do? I miss shopping for back to school supplies - new pencils and notebooks really make me giddy. That and soap bottles, apparently.
