over the weekend

A short but sweet little weekend it was. I worked on Sunday, which meant Saturday was extra special. Chris and I went out with a friend of his to a neighboring town to look at car stuff, motorcycle stuff - you know, guy things. But it was quite fun, actually, as I got to learn about the different types of motorcycles. I've decided that my choice is the type where I can sit on the back with arm rests and a cup holder while Chris drives. To be honest, it's the only way I'll feel like I'm not just seconds from falling to my death at all times. We then explored the town, ate a late lunch, took an extra-long nap, and then went and saw a movie. A perfect little Saturday.

A biker chick I am not. He looks like much more of a natural, no?

Bikes are close to Chris' heart. He drove one in college and I think there's a little hole in his heart with a motorcycle's name on it. I had never been on one and rarely saw them except on TV when they filmed at biker bars. I completely support a bike, but only if he wears a helmet - which isn't a law in Michigan for some reason?!  A classic story - boy mets girl. Girl gets on boy's bike and fears for her life. Boy tries to change her mind. She's still not sure. Boy says pretty please. Girl says maybe, but only if a heavy sedative is involved. And the saga continues...

Also, on a totally different note, I've changed pillow personalities. Rather abruptly too, I might add. For those of you who don't know what your pillow personality is {which is likely all of you}, it is the type of pillow you prefer to sleep on at night - you know, firm or soft, cardboard-esque or just feathers, basically. In any case, I was a firm pillow person. The firmer the better, in fact. Some nights, I'd skip the pillow entirely and opt directly for the mattress. That was until this past weekend. I put my head down on the most amazing, down, feathery soft pillow that has changed me. I don't think I've slept that well in quite some time. Forever changed, I think.

  1. It's always disappointing to return home after staying a hotel with those wonderful fluffy down pillows... sigh. My husband had a bike for a while when we were dating and I never felt fully comfortable on it. You're not the only one!

  2. hahhaa, your side note is just hilarious! i need to try your pillow personality because the past few days i have not been sleeping too well! :)

  3. I always end up pushing my pillow up above my head and using a bunched up blanket as my pillow. Or no pillow. Weirdo? Yes.

  4. that first shot is great and you look darling on that bike
